Plaxico Burress’ attorney has been working with Manhattan’s district attorney office for months to try to help Burress avoid any jail time.
Burress and his attorney are trying to avoid the minimum 3.5 year sentence by entering a guilty plea to third-degree criminal possession of a loaded and unlicensed weapon. However, according to Sal Paolantonio, nearly 80% of people convicted of a third degree charge still spent time behind bars.
I’m not exactly a legal expert or anything, but my initial thought is that I think Burress will get off without any time in jail. However, I still think he’ll face a suspension by the league at the start of the season.

I’m worried that the receivers for the upcoming season won’t be able to cover for his loss. i singled about ahmad bradshaw as an integral part of the offense next season = http://thebleacherbums.wordpress.com/2009/06/06/playing-with-fire/
any visits or comments would be appreciated. I’m trying to get a feel for what giants fans think about the receivers and the offense next season
