Yesterday, the Giants invited Florida wide receiver/running back Percy Harvin to Giants Stadium for a private workout. The Giants say they brought him in for a “special teams workout”. Harvin also has private workouts scheduled with the Bucs, Dolphins, Jets, Ravens, and Vikings.
Harvin was a hell of a player in high school and college and I’d love to have him on the team, but I really doubt he’ll be there with the 29th pick in the draft. I really can’t see him as a possible replacement for Burress if he’s no longer with us next season. Harvin is only 5′11″ and I would prefer for the Giants to get Eli a big target. If the Giants look for a receiver in the first round of the draft I think we’ll see them pick Kenny Britt, Hakeem Nicks, or Darrius Heyward-Bey.
