Brett Favre retires

favre.jpgAfter 17 years, Brett Favre has decided to retire.

Favre will finish his career with the most TD passes (442), most passing yards(61,655), and wins as a starting quarterback (160).

There has been a lot of speculation Favre would retire over the last few seasons, but now that its finally happened, I’m kind of shocked. He was the face of the franchise and I can’t picture the Packers without Favre leading them.

Props to Corey Webster on intercepting Favre’s last pass attempt of his career. Anyone else find it strange that Favre threw on the first pass attempt of his career and also his last?

“It’s an honor to have competed against Brett Favre in his last game,” Webster said. “Brett is by far one of the best quarterbacks I have ever competed against. We knew going into that game we were going to have to prepare well because everybody knew Brett would be at his best in a game that meant so much. That interception, to this point, was the biggest play of my career. I gave that ball to (Lt. Col.) Greg Gadson and he said I could have it back whenever I wanted, but I’ve told him it’s his to keep.”

I also have to say good luck to Aaron Rodgers. He’s been waiting as a backup for what seems like forever now and he’s in a real tough position. Best of luck to him.
