According to Mike Garafolo of the Star Ledger, Sammy Knight is close to signing a three year, $5 million contract with the Giants.
The Giants can use a smart, veteran player in the secondary. Three years might be a little long for Knight, who is 32 years old. The contract is the same type of contract Jerry Reese gave Kawika Mitchell last season, though, and that worked out great.

As a Chief fan, who fully endorsed the Mitchell signing as an outstanding bargain, I will say the signing Knight would be a lousy move. He was done 3 years ago in KC. He’s slow as molasses. He’s smart, but his lack of speed will give opposing TE’s a field day.
