Giants interested in DeAngelo Hall

According to two sources close to the Giants and Falcons, the Giants are willing to trade their first round pick (pick #31) for Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall. Jerry Reese declined to comment on the trade rumor.

In four NFL seasons, Hall has 17 interceptions and 36 pass deflections.

Hall had disciplinary problems last season, though, from then head coach Bobby Petrino. Hall was outspoken and criticized his coach often last season as the Falcons went 3-13.

Despite Hall’s discipline problems last season, I think it would be great to bring Hall into New York.

Hall didn’t like Petrino’s attitude and said he missed Jim Mora’s attitude where players could sit down and have a conversation with the coach. That’s the type of coach Tom Coughlin became this season and he should be able to keep Hall under control. A lot of his frustrations came from playing on a losing team anyways, so his problems should be solved playing for the defending Super Bowl champions..

Hall is more valuable than any player we can probably get with the 31st pick, so we might as well go for it.  The only first round pick that really excites me right now that the Giants have a chance at drafting is Kenny Phillps, who probably won’t be available by the time the Giants pick.
